Extension lectures on National/World Commerce Education Day

The Post-Graduate Department of Commerce, Multani Mal Modi College, Patiala today organized two special extension lectures on the topics of ‘Journey from No money to contemporary financial systems’ and ‘GST: An Overview’ while celebrating National/World Commerce Education Day. These lectures were delivered by former Dean (Commerce) Prof. Nirmal Singh Bhatti and Prof. Sharvan Kumar respectively. College Principal Dr. Khushvinder Kumar welcomed the speaker and said that the global financial systems are transforming the way modern societies exist and think. Prof. Neena Sareen, Dean (Commerce) and Head, Department of Commerce formally introduced the speakers and discussed the relevance of the chosen topics ‘The journey from no money to contemporary financial systems’ and ‘GST: An Overview’. She said that it is important to understand the conceptual frameworks of both the topics. Prof. Nirmal Singh Bhatti while delivering his lecture discussed the process of evolution of money from the times of ‘No money’ to the complex corporatization of financing. He elaborated the seven stages of evolution of current global structures of capital systems. In his lecture Prof. Sharwan Kumar explored the various implications and dimensions of GST Act. He said that the impact is deep and will determine the future flow of capital in the economic system. The stage was conducted by students of MCom Ms. Merry Garg and Ms. Reetika Sachdeva. Vote of thanks was delivered by Prof. Parminder Kaur and Dr. Deepika Singla. All staff members were present on this occasion.

ਮੁਲਤਾਨੀ ਮੱਲ ਮੋਦੀ ਕਾਲਜ, ਪਟਿਆਲਾ ਦੇ ਪੋਸਟ-ਗ੍ਰੈਜੂਏਟ ਕਾਮਰਸ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਅੱਜ ਪੂੰਜੀ-ਪ੍ਰਬੰਧਨ ਅਤੇ ਜੀ.ਐਸ.ਟੀ. ਦੇ ਵਿਸ਼ਿਆਂ ਤੇ ਦੋ ਖਾਸ ਭਾਸ਼ਣਾਂ ਦਾ ਆਯੋਜਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ। ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਭਾਸ਼ਣਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਮੁੱਖ ਵਕਤਾ ਦੇ ਤੌਰ ਤੇ ਕਾਮਰਸ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਦੇ ਸਾਬਕਾ ਡੀਨ ਅਤੇ ਪ੍ਰੋਫੈਸਰ ਨਿਰਮਲ ਸਿੰਘ ਭੱਟੀ ਅਤੇ ਪ੍ਰੋ. ਸਰਵਣ ਕੁਮਾਰ ਨੇ ਸ਼ਿਰਕਤ ਕੀਤੀ। ਕਾਲਜ ਪ੍ਰਿੰਸੀਪਲ ਡਾ. ਖੁਸ਼ਵਿੰਦਰ ਕੁਮਾਰ ਜੀ ਨੇ ਆਏ ਮਹਿਮਾਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਸਵਾਗਤ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਮੌਜੂਦੇ ਦੌਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਪੂੰਜੀ-ਵਿਵਸਥਾ ਸਮਕਾਲੀ ਸਮਾਜਾਂ ਦੇ ਰਹਿਣ-ਸਹਿਣ, ਜੀਵਨ-ਪ੍ਰਬੰਧਨ ਅਤੇ ਸੋਚਣ-ਪੱਧਤੀ ਨੂੰ ਡੂੰਘਿਆਂ ਪ੍ਰਭਾਵਿਤ ਕਰ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ। ਡੀਨ ਕਾਮਰਸ ਅਤੇ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਮੁਖੀ ਡਾ. ਨੀਨਾ ਸਰੀਨ ਨੇ ਆਏ ਮਹਿਮਾਨਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਰਸਮੀ ਜਾਣ-ਪਛਾਣ ਕਰਵਾਈ ਅਤੇ ਭਾਸ਼ਣਾਂ ਲਈ ਚੁਣੇ ਮੁੱਦਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਅਹਿਮੀਅਤ ਬਾਰੇ ਨੁਕਤੇ ਸਾਂਝੇ ਕੀਤੇ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ‘ਪੂੰਜੀ ਪ੍ਰਬੰਧਨ’ ਅਤੇ ‘ਜੀ.ਐਸ.ਟੀ.’ ਬਾਰੇ ਸਿਧਾਂਤਕ ਪਹੁੰਚ ਦਾ ਪੁਖਤਾ ਹੋਣਾ ਜ਼ਰੂਰੀ ਹੈ। ਪ੍ਰੋ. ਨਿਰਮਲ ਸਿੰਘ ਭੱਟੀ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਵਿਸ਼ੇ ‘ਬਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਪੈਸੇ ਵਾਲੀ ਆਰਥਿਕਤਾ ਤੋਂ ਮੌਜੂਦਾ ਪੂੰਜੀ ਪ੍ਰਬੰਧਨ ਤੱਕ ਦਾ ਸਫ਼ਰ’ ਤੇ ਵਿਚਾਰ-ਚਰਚਾ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਸਾਡੀ ਸੱਭਿਅਤਾ ਨੇ ‘ਬਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਪੈਸੇ’ ਵਾਲੀ ਆਰਥਿਕ ਸਥਿਤੀ ਤੋਂ ਪੂੰਜੀ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਪੋਰੇਟਾਈਜ਼ੇਸ਼ਨ ਤੱਕ ਦਾ ਸਫ਼ਰ ਇੱਕ ਗੁੰਝਲਦਾਰ ਪ੍ਰੀਕ੍ਰਿਆ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਤੈਅ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਸਫ਼ਰ ਦੇ ਸੱਤ ਪੜ੍ਹਾਵਾਂ ਬਾਰੇ ਚਰਚਾ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਮੌਜੂਦਾ ਗਲੋਬਲੀ ਪਰਿਪੇਖ ਵਿੱਚ ਪੂੰਜੀ-ਪ੍ਰਬੰਧਾਂ ਦੀ ਵਿਆਖਿਆ ਕੀਤੀ। ਦੂਜੇ ਭਾਸ਼ਣ ਜਿਸ ਦਾ ਵਿਸ਼ਾ ‘ਜੀ.ਐਸ.ਟੀ.: ਇੱਕ ਪਰਿਪੇਖ’ ਸੀ, ਵਿੱਚ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਸੰਬੋਧਨ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਪ੍ਰੋ. ਸ਼ਰਵਨ ਕੁਮਾਰ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਜੀ.ਐਸ.ਟੀ. ਦਾ ਵਪਾਰਕ ਗਤੀਵਿਧੀਆਂ ਉੱਪਰ ਵਿਆਪਕ ਅਤੇ ਬਹੁ-ਪੱਖੀ ਪ੍ਰਭਾਵ ਪਿਆ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਇਸ ਦਾ ਆਰਥਿਕਤਾ ਉੱਤੇ ਪਿਆ ਅਸਰ ਲੰਬੇ ਸਮੇਂ ਤੱਕ ਵਪਾਰਿਕ ਤੇ ਪੂੰਜੀ-ਸਬੰਧਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਨਿਰਧਾਰਤ ਕਰਦਾ ਰਹੇਗਾ। ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ ਤੇ ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮ ਦੇ ਸਟੇਜ ਪ੍ਰਬੰਧਨ ਦੀ ਜ਼ਿੰਮੇਵਾਰੀ ਐਮ.ਕਾਮ. ਦੀਆਂ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥਣਾਂ ਮੈਰੀ ਗਰਗ ਅਤੇ ਰਿਤਿਕਾ ਸਚਦੇਵਾ ਨੇ ਬਾਖੂਬੀ ਨਿਭਾਈ। ਧੰਨਵਾਦ ਦਾ ਮਤਾ ਕਾਮਰਸ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰੋ. ਪਰਮਿੰਦਰ ਕੌਰ ਅਤੇ ਡਾ. ਦੀਪੀਕਾ ਸਿੰਗਲਾ ਨੇ ਪੇਸ਼ ਕੀਤਾ। ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ ਤੇ ਸਮੂਹ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਅਧਿਆਪਕ ਸਾਹਿਬਾਨ ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਸਨ।
